Shawn Paroline (Lead Associate at Jacobs Associates) . On August 11, 2010, the Regional Construction Procurement Committee (RCPC) conducted a half-day symposium with 50 of the San Diego region’s leading Subject Matter Experts (SME’s). The purpose of the symposium was to seek collaborative solutions that benefit the region (i.e. the public) in four of the top design and construction issues. The SME’s engaged in substantive dialog, shared experiences, presented research/data, and developed practical solutions for public agencies and the industry in the areas of Alternative Delivery Methods, Lean Construction/BIM, Delivering Quality in the New Millennia, and Water and Other Natural Resources. Each of the four expert groups compiled a white paper setting forth the most substantive findings of the symposium. It is intended that these White Papers become a blueprint for better planning, design and construction in the San Diego region in the next decade (2011-2020).
Shawn Paroline (Lead Associate at Jacobs Associates) . The RCPC will present the White Paper to some of the region’s top public agency executives at a town hall meeting set to be held at the 12th Annual Paths to Partnerships Regional Forum on October 21st at the San Diego Convention Center. An executive summary of each white paper will be presented by an RCPC panelist, and white paper contributors and other SMES will be on hand to answer questions and participate in the forum. Attend the Top Four Issues session to discover how you can help to further the symposium’s initiatives.
