This year’s conference will be devoted to the art of focus. We will bring together an inspiring and informative range of talks, briefings, panel discussions and some surprise program items which will help participants learn the art of focus.

It is well documented that the human body’s response to increased stress is manifested in health problems both physical and mental. At best, when we’re stressed we’re not very nice to be around. At worst we could be driving our friends away, sabotaging our own success and heading for melt-down mode!

Practicing the art of focus will improve your overall health, help you stay on task when your attention is diverted, reduce stress and improve productivity while preserving your sanity!

The 2009 SWB Conference is an opportunity to expand your understanding by investing attention and energy into building a repertoire of insights practical and inspirational to help you stay focused on experiencing your greatest success.

Our 2009 Keynote speakers are confirmed. We are extremely excited that our Domestic Keynote speaker will be Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Industrial Relations, Education, Employment and Social Inclusion Julia Gillard. Since the election of the Rudd government in late 2007, Gillard has impressed and inspired Australia with her measured and competent performance as DPM and, for almost one quarter of 2008, as Acting Prime Minister. We are honoured that she has agreed to address SWB09.

Our International Keynote speaker is Jill Lester, CEO of the New York-based global not-for-profit organisation The Hunger Project. Jill is an Australian who has lived in New York for many years and who had an impressive corporate career before moving over to the not-for-profit sector. We look forward to hearing Jill inspire us with her account of her life in both these worlds and, especially, to learning about the work of The Hunger Project.
