2nd Workshop on the European Masters in Software Engineering
June 10, 2010 at 9:00 AM - June 11, 2010 at 3:00 PM
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Madrid
European Masters in Software Engineering (EMSE) Erasmus Mundus Programme, coordinated by four top European Universities attracts participants from across the globe. The participants are trained to meet the requirements of the international software practice in today’s world. First batch of the EMSE programme successfully graduated in summer 2009, and some of them are pursuing PhDs while the others are putting what they have learnt in to practice in the industry. Rest of the two batches are following the same foot prints by thriving in studies and contributing to the research.
The WEMSE is an initiative of the students and alumni of the programme, and its objective is to create an atmosphere for students, alumni and lecturer interaction outside the walls of the school. Also, it aims to prepare graduating and non-graduating students for the professional life – academic or industrial, after the masters programme. Finally, it serves as the meeting point for all the students & alumni of the programme and a forum to create the EMSE family spirit.
The workshop encourages the exchange of ideas related to software engineering between participants. The subject of discussion can be from any field of software engineering whether emerging or established. Also, the studies may vary from empirical studies to theoretical analysis – either qualitative or quantitative. The WEMSE is not just a regular workshop. Quite the contrary, this workshop has the foremost importance for the EMSE due to its scientific/technical and social dimensions.
