Taylor Jacobson (Consultant | Entrepreneur | Writer) . Not sure if there is a "reply to comment" function here, but this is in response to Jiten's comment. Unfortunately I have been out of town for past meetups, but I support what you're saying and will gladly spend some time brainstorming. Jiten, please introduce yourself if you see me there and we can just chat about it.

Jiten Apte (CEO at Wizarth Advisors) . Guys, we have had a handful of Duke Mumbai Alumni events in the past few weeks/months. I attended the initial ones out of nostalgia and curiosity. I am sure a few others had the same reasons for attending too. But now, we need to work on it if we want to make/keep these events meaningful for us. A couple of ideas for making these meets more meaningful are (a) More attendees and (b) New or focused or meaningful content for a brief portion of the evening. You may or may not agree with these ideas ... maybe you have ideas of your own for taking these gatherings beyond "nostalgia and curiosity" to "meaningful on a sustained basis". How about if we dedicate a small portion of this upcoming gathering to brainstorm how we can build this into a long term meaningful activity for all of us (and for more of us)? I am an alumnus of IIT-Bombay (before Duke), and I lived in the US for a long time (18 years). We had a thriving alimni community in the US which conducted numerous social gatherings. I found them to be a vital source of professional as well as social networking. Can we challenge ourselves to do something similar with Duke Alumni in Mumbai? While there may be much fewer Duke alumni in Mumbai than IIT-B alumni in the US, I am sure we can make a good start!!!
Jiten Apte (CEO at Wizarth Advisors) . There was no button which I could click, to say "I will try very hard to attend, but there is a small chance I may not". So I just clicked "Attending" :-)
