Adcrafters Ron Boe, Eric Kracht and Phil Rzepka, co-chairs of Adcraft’s Education Committee, have announced that the Club’s 17th annual “AdCon” education event will take place on Saturday, November 14 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. This will mark our first time at Team Detroit, one of Detroit’s largest advertising agencies, located at 550 Town Center in Dearborn (at the southwest entrance facing Fairlane Mall). Attendees will have the option to arrive early, between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for an agency tour as well.

AdCon will offer relevant information on advertising industry careers to college students and entry-level advertising professionals. The day will give an overview on numerous parts of our business, including creative, media and account services and will seek to teach what a career in each of these disciplines would entail. It will also have an emphasis on emerging trends. In addition, specialists will give advice on the best way to get into the industry and land that elusive first job. Students are encouraged to bring a resume and/or a creative portfolio.

Information on Adcraft Foundation scholarships will be available and numerous volunteers from the Detroit advertising industry will be on-hand to assist and offer their expertise.

The cost to attend AdCon is $15 in advance or $20 at the door, which includes lunch and fantastic door prizes, including the chance to win an interview! Event day registration will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
