Renewal Food Bank and Puget Sound Blood Center’s social media program are teaming for a blood drive and food drive from Dec 1 to Dec 12, at the Bellevue Donor Center. Renewal Food Bank provides food to 300 families in Bellevue each week, and Puget Sound Blood Center collects 900 blood donations every day.

There will be a food bin by the front entrance of the Bellevue Donor Center for donations of non-perishable food. We invite you to donate blood and food as an individual, or to use social media to organize a team of donors. Invite friends, family, neighbors, fellow worshipers or coworkers to donate together. Feel free to collect food from your neighbors, or to put out a bin at work and empty it at the donor center.

Donation teams have the option to enter a competition for the most blood donations. The winning team receives special recognition in the local news.

There are many ways to get participants excited and add additional meaning to your group’s drive. Consider donating blood and food as a holiday gift to a friend, or just do it in someone’s honor. While donating at the center, you also can hold another event such as:

1. A birthday
2. A holiday party
3. A potluck
4. A coffee social
5. A tribute to someone
