This NYC-based Fourth Annual Energy & Resources Conference is intended to bring together some of the innovative people and organizations who are addressing the chemical and energy areas, with some of the sources of funding potentially available to these innovators, in the hope of aiding both groups in their search for each other. We will examine each of the major sources of funding that we have identified, in each case trying to understand their “roadmaps to innovation”; that is, what technological and business areas are most attractive to each, what types of organizations are of interest, and what do those organizations have to do to have the best chance of receiving funding. We will cover the governmental sources of funding, both national and on the state and local level. Also of interest are those technology transfer entities associated with universities, which are a major source of innovative ideas, and understand how they work to bring together the academic innovators and the industrial sponsors who support the development and commercialization of those ideas. Finally, we will hear from venture groups, both independent and those residing within companies, and understand their search criteria and areas of particular interest.
