On Monday 23 November 2009 the second Design by Fire Café will take place. Design by Fire Café is an informal gathering for (interaction) designers organized by IxDA Nederland. Each café will feature a short, inspiring presentation as a starter for discussion and chat.

PRESENTATION ABSTRACT

Froukje Sleeswijk Visser is our guest speaker on Monday 23 November. During her PhD research Froukje developed a set of guidelines to translate the outcome of user experience research into useful input for a design process. The underlying theoretical model indicates how to attain the three main qualities (empathy, inspiration and commitment). This Design by Fire Café Froukje will present a case to clarify her model. The boundary between product design and service design will be one of the topics in the discussion following the presentation.

Froukje Sleeswijk Visser studied Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft Technical University. In 2009 she got her PhD at that same faculty. Since 2006 Froukje conducts inspiring user research and concept development from within her company ContextQueen (http://www.contextqueen.nl/).
