Distressed Servicing 2009 is a platform for representatives from across all sectors of the global housing finance industry to discuss solutions to critical questions now confronting all of us.
This year’s unique, invitation-only event continues the highly acclaimed dialogue on the globalization of mortgage markets first launched by EuroCatalyst in Madrid during 2002. It also incorporates EuropeServicing, launched by EuroCatalyst in 2005 to reposition the role of servicing from the originator’s back office to the investor and consumer’s front office.
By bringing this highly-influential event series to the U.S., our mission is as audacious as it is necessary: bring together thought leaders from across the primary and secondary mortgage markets, to take part in a dialogue that will serve to shape the future of an entire industry.
I am very much looking forward to this Conference as I know the creative genius of Paul Jackson and his talented team. Of particular interest is the European experience which EuroCatalyst brings at a time when the US should be more open to successes and experience from "across the pond". Eighteen months ago most of us couldn't see the brilliance of bringing all of the disparate aspects of housing into one publication: Housing Wire. I've now grown HW co-dependent---I need my daily e-mail to set my compass.
There has to be more people excited about this than you and I! Paul Jackson is a leader in the industry; he emits facts within a cultural and political framework. This I feel is imperative in the ever-changing nature of the credit and equity markets - and life as we knew it. Although unfamiliar with EuroCatalyst prior to this invitation, based on what I garnered from their website, their manner of addressing the present and future holistically also energizes me: there is more to this than "blood running in the streets", as Rockefeller said 70 years ago. Today, there has to be blood running through our veins. What was and is and may and might transpire in this industry requires brainstorming from all venues. For that reason, this conference will generate guided and realistic change at best in an open marketplace of ideas. At worst, we will all recognize that we are all servicers, as has already been said, and proceed with more knowledge and insight.
BTW, I have been too busy to complete,(more like establish), let alone update my profile on Linked In, so please pay it very little mind. Someday I'll get to it..........
Looking forward to this unique event.
