The goal of this event is simple: get together in a casual environment to share stories, make new friends and connect while improving our personal skills on the way to becoming fully employed. This is an open invitation, so please invite others and pass this invitation along.

We (the unemployed or underemployed) are being driven stir-crazy as we trying to figure out the ins and outs of our lives. The subjects vary but include such questions as: how and where to network to maximize personal exposure; how to use job boards and the internet to an advantage; is the resume appropriate for the times and jobs being applied for; when and if to accept a job that pays a lot less, how to maximize personal finances to be able to maintain a suitable life style; and the list goes on!

On the agenda will be two 20 min guest speaker presentations. The first speaker, Pam Christensen owner of Staging for Charisma( www.stagingforcharisma.com) and social networking consultant, will be giving a presentation on maximizing LinkedIn for networking. Our second guest speaker, Irene Dabanian of IJD Evergreen Financial Services (www.ijdevergreen.com), will give a presentation on managing personal liquidity and avoiding pitfalls during employment transition.

A Very Taki Tiki Bar & Grill will provide a few chafers of taki tiki wings & garlic pesto meatballs for the group and is offering $2 discounts on other appetizers. In addition, they are offering us drink specials including $4 wells and tap beers, and $5 glasses of wine and Mia Tia’s (I for one think the Taki Tiki makes one of the best Mia Tia’s around, good chance this is what I will be drinking).

A BIG “THANK YOU” goes out to Rick Colgan, of A Very Taki Tiki Bar& Grill, for his gracious donations.

See You on Thursday the 5th!!
