Speaker: Robert Leak/Winston-Salem Business Inc.
Rising national and regional unemployment is creating an unprecedented sense of uncertainty amongst consumers and businesses. Reduced personal consumption and lack of business investment is placing additional pressure on the national and regional economy. The recent announcement that Dell will close its advanced manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem will cost the region more than 900 jobs. Economic developers in the Triad are scrambling to create plans that will jumpstart a recovery in business investment, hiring, and growth in the region.
Robert Leak is responsible for the economic development effort in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County and he works closely with business leaders and elected officials to recruit companies to locate in the area. Robert is directly responsible for the development of Union Cross Business Park, the location of the Dell Manufacturing Facility. Join us for this insightful “town hall” that will give you an opportunity to ask direct questions about the direction our region is heading after the loss of a global corporation.
