Energy efficiency is a leading strategy for reducing ozone related emissions and carbon dioxide. Did you know that each megawatt of electricity generated from coal releases an average of 2.249 pounds of carbon dioxide, 13 pounds of sulfur dioxide and 6 pounds of nitrogen oxide? There is so much that we can all do to reduce energy, reduce pollution and save money.

Clean Air Counts is pleased to partner with Elmhurst College, Energy Choices, and ComEd to provide a forum to its members that focuses on energy management Issues. This workshop is appropriate for facilities managers, energy purchasers, business managers and owners, municipal leaders and staff.

Speakers Bruce Mather, Executive Director of Facilities for Elmhurst College, will discuss their energy efficiency strategies and other green initiatives. Elmhurst College is a leader in environmental sustainability and recently announced the LEED Gold Level (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification at the for the design of its newest residence building, West Hall.

Craig Schuttenberg, Energy Choices, P.C. will discuss Making Smart Supply-side Decisions. After reducing your energy usage there are a number of tacks that businesses can take to reduce energy bills and minimize liability. Mr. Schuttenberg will discuss buying energy, what it means when you buy renewable energy, and how state and federal policy impacts pricing.

Kevin Bricknell, ComEd Energy Data Services Program Manager, will present ComEd's Energy Insights Online and Energy Usage Data programs. ComEd will also provide information about their energy efficiency programs.
