PRINCE2 2009 has arrived and there have been a number of changes to the core content and style of the methodology. Many people who have been trained in the earlier versions of PRINCE2 may not be aware of the changes that the 2009 release brings to the methodology and the impacts of these changes.

The success of many projects also relies upon the skill of managing projects within the context of the methodology whilst utilising an appropriate software planning tool. One of the most widely used tools is Microsoft Project and many people find it challenging to successfully integrate Microsoft Project with their PRINCE2 projects. There are many techniques that can be applied to successfully use Microsoft Project within a PRINCE2 environment and with the release of PRINCE2 2009 this integration has become even simpler.

In this presentation our speaker Paul Harris will:

• Present an overview of the changes to the PRINCE2 methodology

• Identify key areas of impact these changes will have for an organisation adopting this revised methodology or updating their current methodology

• Demonstrate practical ways that Microsoft Project may be used to support your PRINCE2 projects

While this session will not make you an expert in PRINCE2 2009 or Microsoft Project – it will certainly give you an overview of the changes in the PRINCE2 methodology with the release of Version 5, how the changes affect your projects and the opportunities for you to use Microsoft Project to manage your PRINCE2 projects.

Paul Harris holds an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering obtained in the UK and is a Certified Cost Engineer through AACEI International, a PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner, an Approved PRINCE2 Trainer and a “Managing Successful Programmes” Registered Practitioner. He has worked in the project controls industry for a number of years and has assisted many companies in a range of industries to set up and run project controls systems. His Melbourne, Australia based company, Eastwood Harris Pty Ltd, offers project controls consulting and training services world wide with a strong focus on Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject and Primavera software.
