Fed Reserve President Dr. Janet L. Yellen to Speak at Fall Real Estate Seminar in Phoenix The Phoenix chapter of Lambda Alpha International, the Honorary Society for the Land of Economics, welcomes Dr. Janet L. Yellen, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, as the keynote speaker at the Fall Real Estate Seminar on November 10, 2009. Yellen will provide her insights into the outlook for the economy and factors that will impact recovery, including unemployment, consumer spending, housing and commercial real estate prospects and inflation. Yellen took office on June 14, 2004, as president and chief executive officer of the Twelfth District Federal Reserve Bank, at San Francisco. She currently serves as a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee. Yellen is professor emeritus at the University of California at Berkeley where she was the Eugene E. and Catherine M. Trefethen Professor of Business and Professor of Economics and has been a faculty member since 1980. The Fall Real Estate Seminar will be held at the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix on Nov. 10, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Registration is $45 for Lambda Alpha members and $75 for non-members until Nov. 1.
