Farmers Market & Breakfast (Markets & Meals for Hope) Sunday November 15, 2009 from 9:00am - 12:00pm Saint Sebastian Church 5400 West Washington Blvd Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53208
Join us at the St. Sebastian's Church Hall for a Breakfast Meal and Farmers Market.
The event supports local farmers and using/eating local products. Funds raised benefit CCLPs Markets and Meals for Hope program which supports tri-state farmers during the non-growing seasons and their Emergency Crisis Fund. At our March '09 Market & Meal we served approx. 250 meals. Attendees chatted with about a dozen farmers, who in turn brought products from their own as well as neighboring farms. Products for purchase included: Fall harvest veggies, Cookbooks, Honey, Cheese, Yogurt, Jams/Jellies/Preserves, Salsas, Mustards, Coffee, grass-fed and free-range poultry, beef, pork, and lamb, Lambswool products, and handmade goat's-milk soaps. The Urban Ecology Center was also present to disseminate pertinent information.
MENU will be prepared with local ingredients mostly from this farmers group: whole-wheat pancakes, scrambled eggs & cheese, sausage, apple sauce, yogurt & honey, muffins & breakfast cookies, cider, milk, coffee.
