Black Finn wants to help us take a bite out of hunger in southeastern Michigan by hosting a VIP (Very Important Philanthropist) food drive!
Every year, over 1 million people in Michigan rely on our food banks for help, 70% of which live below the poverty line and 34% of which are children -- the poverty level for a family of three is $16,090/year; those asking for help have an average household income is $10,870. But there's an EASY and AWESOME way you can help!!!
Chances are good you have canned food (or non-perishables) in your pantry that could help someone else, probably sooner than it's going to help you. So share your favorite pantry foods with the people who need it most at our "Food for (Nearly) Free Drinks" party! Grab your green beans, Campbell's, Mac & Cheese, Uncle Ben's, Rotini or your fave marinara fro your cupboard and bring it to Black Finn on Thursday, November 19th.
Two non-perishable food items at the door get you $2 "you-call-its" drinks for 2 hours (9:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.) -- just mention "The SPF" at the door. What's a "you-call-it" you ask? Whatever you want - it's all just $2 a drink!
So grab a plastic bag, clean out the dusty section of your pantry and help us celebrate those that make the greatest difference in the community: YOU!!!
