On November 12, there will be a 6 pm meeting to discuss executing a guerrilla job search program for six weeks, with the input of Kevin Donlin and David Perry. They will be on the conference call for the 11/12 meeting. If we implement this program, it will take six weeks of boot camp study to do the guerrilla search.

If you're coming, we start at 6 p.m., at Mt. Hope Congregational Church (30330 Schoolcraft Rd., Livonia) which is on the westbound (north) service drive of I-96, between Middlebelt and Merriman. Enter the door on the small porch, just to the west of the double main doors on the front of the church. Go down the hall til the hall goes to the right, and follow that to Fellowship Hall.

We have 17 signed up and 14 interested. I am still trying to get a valid count, so please make sure your status is correct. At the first meeting, if you will bring a current resume, I will add it to the file. I keep a file of everyone's resume, that wants to share one, so that when someone approaches me with positions, I can recommend. I look forward to meeting you all on the 22nd. Curt
I'm sorry but I understand that at least 1-2 people came late last evening and could not get into the church. I left the side door, on the porch just to the left of the main doors, open and I know at least a couple people did come in late, but I'm not sure if perhaps it got locked again. I tried to publicize that door at the group site and in emails to people on my email distribution. We had 14 people in attendance. I am very sorry that a couple of people could not get in. My cell phone, in case that were to happen again, is 734/775-2500. Please make a note. Please come next week, even if you did not get in this week. Next week we will cover on-line applications for LinkedIn and social networking, and we'll have the web up on the big screen to review. We will also hit several other topics, but the on-line sites will be much of our agenda. Resumes and branding will be other topics. Thank you.

To: All current and past GET TO WORKshop participants (this is not open to people who have not attended the GET TO WORKshop series) RE: Kevin Donlin recommendation (Guerrilla job-search) Next Thursday, we will be meeting at 6, and have a conference call with Kevin Donlin at 6:30, to discuss the following: - Kevin wants to run a 6-week Guerrilla job search program through our workshop - it will start a week from next Thursday - it will be limited to 24 people (each attendee will be assigned a "partner" to support/encourage/assist) - the expectation is that the attendees are committed to following the program, as laid out - the cost of this program will be free, but I am still checking to see if materials, etc., will incur a charge This may be a great opportunity to participate in an aggressive job-search program, no cost, as long as you can commit to following the program. If you want to find out more about the proposed guerrilla workshops we'll be running, and if you have attended any of my GET TO WORKshops, feel free to come Thursday at 6 pm (please email me so I'll know you're coming, if you haven't already let me know), and we'll be discussing the proposed workshops, then having a conference call with Kevin Donlin and David Perry, and then we'll determine the logistics of executing the workshops. Space in the workshops will be very limited, so it's important to let me know ASAP if you are interested. We already have more than 24 who have expressed interest, but a few of those are not workshop participants, so there is still some room, and others may not commit, so I encourage you to spend an hour or so Thursday to get your questions answered.
