Does your Employee Value Proposition (EVP) align with your new business environment?
The recession has created a widespread and unprecedented impact on both US employers and employees. While the worst may be over, companies should be preparing for the effects to linger as the economy recovers. The scope and number of actions a company may have taken in response to the economic crisis can result in a drop in employee engagement (particularly among high performers). This can have long lasting and negative effects on productivity, quality, and customer service.
However, as companies emerge from the recession, they need to ensure their Employee Value Proposition (EVP) aligns with their new business environment. Many companies have not considered the impact of their actions on their EVP post recession and consequently, have created significant attrition risk among top performers.
Fred Crandall, PhD, a senior member of Watson Wyatt’s compensation practice in Chicago, will speak on the importance of companies focusing on and creating a new EVP in order to engage and retain the current workforce. Fred will also share the results of Watson Wyatt’s 2009 Strategic Rewards Survey (published shortly before the luncheon).
