The threat posed by communicable diseases to the health and economic prosperity of the United Kingdom remains a high political priority, especially in times of economic adversity.
LTN is supported by the LDA to assist with consortia-build for this call, and is holding an evening seminar to facilitate networking in this area.
Dr Penny Wilson from the TSB will take us through the scope of this prospective call, along with two guest speakers to share their experiences of the challenges and successes involved in forming consortia, applying for funding and engaging in collaborative projects in the area of infectious disease diagnostics.
In the current economic climate it is always interested to hear of ways to leverage the R&D budget. If you are involved in diagnostic development for a number of infectious diseases, including TB, hospital acquired infections and a selection of animal pathogens, then this is a call that is worth looking at carefully - especially since LTN is able to provide a level of assistance in forming the consortia.
