Donnie Jenkins was born in Cleveland, Tennessee , and went on the road as a professional musician at age 19. He toured the United, States, , Bermuda and played with or warmed up concerts for The Forrester Sisters, Overland Express, David Alan Coe, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Atlanta Rhythm Section.

He bought his first computer in 1983, and became a computer tech within a year of that. He began writing a weekly column on personal technologies for the Lifestyle section of the Chattanooga Times Free Press in 2006 and was the newspaper’s first podcaster. His most recent audio podcasts are archived at www.timesfreepress.com/news/rss/podcasts/techcast.

Currently, Donnie does corporate consulting, audio/video recording and editing. He specializes in teaching the use of creativity in business -- including the study of dreams, mythology, and humor as well as traditional business subjects.

In this presentation to the Council, he will use musical interludes to illustrate tech trends he follows, such as “The Internet of Things.” He will be joined by Ms. Robin Wooten, his duo partner.
