Speaker: Don Low PhD
Social networking sites have emerged as powerful forces in the Web 2.0 era. While some popular social media sites such as Facebook, Myspace and Flickr are centered on entertainment, LinkedIn has emerged as a powerful communication and search tool with a professional focus.
Come join us to explore advanced applications with LinkedIn, and share experiences in leveraging social networks to enhance communication and information exchange on project teams. We will discuss using the advanced search function to help identify hidden resources and spot possible competitors and collaborators. Other topics will include:
• How LinkedIn is different from other Social Media
• Making the most of LinkedIn
• Advanced search case studies
• The future on LinkedIn
If you have not been introduced to the basic functionality of LinkedIn, please visit the LinkedIn website and post a profile so that we can focus the discussion on new and less utilized capabilities. Please join our LinkedIn NorCal BioPharmaPM group to participate in discussions and notification of upcoming local events.
Speaker Bio: Don is an experienced LinkedIn user and will be sharing his past experiences with the site, as well as his thoughts on the future of social media and its implications in the biotech workplace. He holds a Bachelors degree from UC Berkeley and a PhD in Chemistry from Caltech. Don has a 12 year history of leading protein and peptide discovery and development teams including Gryphon Therapeutics, PDL Biopharma and Baxter Bioscience CMC programs.
Please RSVP online at BioPharmaPM.com, or contact the NorCal BioPharmaPM Vice Chair , Doug Tambling to confirm your reservation.
