New York Women In Communications Inc. 2009 Student Career Conference
Save the date! Saturday, November 7, 2009
Each fall, the New York Women in Communications Foundation holds a day-long conference, featuring over 40 communications professionals speaking on 10 different topics. Over 300 students attend to get career tips on communication fields ranging from entrepreneurship to marketing to broadcasting.
Each year, two keynote speakers give inspirational career advice. At the 2008 conference, Debbye Turner Bell, a correspondent at CBS News' The Early Show, kicked off the day, telling students to “Lighten up, toughen up and speak up.” Later at lunch, Kate White, editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan, stepped to the podium, giving students insight into how to set themselves apart in the job market, finishing with her mantra: “Think big or go home!”
