Tom Feltenstein, marketing expert and author, is slated to deliver the Keynote address for the opening of the 12th Americas Food & Beverage Show on Monday, November 9, at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida. His topic, “How to Go from Underdog to Top Dog in 90 Days or Less” provides proven strategies for building sales and marketing. In today’s tough economy, this is a critical subject for the 6,000-plus attendees of the show.

“As a consultant to Fortune 500 companies for 25 years, Tom knows firsthand how to boost sales in good times and bad,” says Jelena Meisel, show director. “We’re confident that everyone, including our chefs, food service professionals, buyers, distributors and exhibitors, will gain valuable insights to fast-track their business.”

Mr. Feltenstein, the founder and CEO of Power Marketing Academy and former senior level executive for McDonald’s Corporation, is a sought-after speaker who has been a featured speaker among superstars such as President George H.W. Bush, Larry King, Terry Bradshaw, Lou Holtz, and General Colin Powell.

He is widely-published author of 13 books. He has received acclaim from the media for his Neighborhood Marketing wisdom from Larry King, traded barbs on the David Letterman Show, argued the waste of running ads during the Super Bowl on the FOX News Pre-Game Show. He has shared his insight in interviews with Lou Dobbs, Voice of America, Bloomberg TV & Radio, US News & World Report, CNN – Tips from the Top, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Food Network, Entrepreneur Magazine and other media.

In addition to the Keynote address, the 2009 show will present a total of eight educational and informative seminars covering issues of importance to food and beverage professionals and importers/exporters.

The Americas Food & Beverage Show, the largest Americas-focused trade event in the hemisphere for the food and beverage industry, showcases thousands of new specialty food and drink products from around the globe in an efficient format that places food producers face-to-face with qualified buyers and decision-makers looking to expand their lines. According to Jelena Meisel, show director, “It’s a world of information, innovation and networking under one roof in Miami, an important gateway to bi-lateral trade in the hemisphere.”

Last year’s show generated $108.6 million in actual and projected on-site sales. With countries from almost every continent represented, the expectations for 2009 are even higher.
