Calling all game, web and iPhone developers!

dimeRocker, in partnership with Unity Technologies and Telefilm's New Media Fund, invites you to the first Toronto Unity Users Group Skills Development Workshop!

The Unity Users Group (UUG) is a not-for-profit community-building resource to inform and connect Unity 3D developers -- and aspiring developers -- worldwide. Located online at www.UnityUsersGroup.com, the UUG delivers on its promise through real-world networking events, keynote presentations, Q&A opportunities with Unity founders and practical skills workshops.

Workshop Highlights:

12:30pm - 1:00pm Registration and refreshments

1:00pm - 3:30pm Unity Skills Workshop

3:30pm - 4:00pm Workshop Q&A

Workshop Instructor:

Amir Ebrahimi, Unity Developer and Field Engineer: Amir comes to Unity with a strong technical background, having come from Naughty Dog, Activision and Flagship Studios, where he wrote tools, graphics code and gameplay scripts for Jak II, Jak 3, Jak X, X-Men, Tony Hawk Project 8 and Hellgate London. He also writes for Game Developer magazine and teaches at the Art Institute of California, San Francisco.

Details:

UUG’s initial focus is on establishing and maintaining regional chapters in the key game development cities of San Francisco, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto, with plans to branch out to other top locales soon thereafter. To kick off the Toronto chapter, UUG is hosting a premiere Unity Skills Development Workshop to support current and aspiring developers in honing their skills with help from Unity experts.

The entire initiative will be framed within a "web-ready" context, exploring how tools like Unity enable developers to create, market and monetize console-like browser content for a growing audience of online & mobile gamers.

DON'T FORGET the Unity Skills Development Workshop is preceded by Unity Users Group Networking Event on Tuesday, Nov. 10 with Tony Garcia from Unity 3D http://uugnetworkingtoronto.eventbrite.com/
