At Professionelle we are passionate about women and leadership. It’s a topic we write about, research and work hard to promote. We were recently privileged to be invited by the EEO Trust to attend an in-depth workshop with Professor Susan Vinnicombe, an international expert on women and leadership. Sarah also attended the Women on Boards conference in Sydney last month and heard directly from the Norwegian minister who drove that country’s radical women-on-Boards-law. Both of these were truly inspiring events and led us to dedicate our last Professionelle networking event of the year to sharing with you what we’ve learned about:
The latest research on the business case for women at the top
The oft-heard excuses that “there are no women available to appoint to top roles” and “women just aren’t interested”
Two key insights from Norway (where women compromise 40% public and listed Board members)
How New Zealand’s “leadership pipeline” is progressing
At this lunch, you’ll have a unique opportunity to discuss your experiences of having women in leading roles, whether more women at the top would be a good thing, and if yes, to share ideas about how to spread the word. Not only will you meet many like-minded women but we’re also opening this lunch up to men. Do please forward this invitation to men you know who you think might enjoy this unique networking event. Increasing the number of Women at the Top is, after all, a task for both genders!
Hope this goes fabulously ladies. Wish I could be there.
