Event description: As Australia's largest food retailer and second largest private employer, Woolworths recognises that they have a high level of social responsibility.This commitment extends to the community and environment - through support for various charities including CanTeen, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and The Smith Family. Woolworths operates a wide range of initiatives to help achieve a better and more sustainable environment and also has a focus on supporting Australian Youth and Regional & Rural Australia.

Andrew Hall will present Woolworths latest initiatives and highlight the way forward for this retail giant.

Andrew joined Woolworths Limited in June 2007, and was appointed to the Senior Management Group as the Director of Corporate and Public Affairs in October that year. In this role, Andrew is responsible for management of Woolworths Limited’s corporate reputation and public affairs dealings in media, government and community across Australia and New Zealand. He also has responsibility for the group’s sustainability strategy which was launched in November 2007.

Andrew’s working career started in retail as a sales assistant at a Big W store in Queensland. After completing university he worked for as journalist, before moving to Canberra where he worked in politics for 10 years. From 2002 to 2007 he was the Federal Director of the Nationals, heading up several election campaigns.

With an interest in international affairs, Andrew has served on the Board of AFS International Exchanges; the Consultative Council for the Centre of Democratic Institutions and the Board of the Australian Political Exchange program.
