CHASE: Talks - September 6th - Multimedia demo + Software apprentices

Mel Pullen will be discussing the software apprentice scheme his company is running: they are applying the apprentice model of training to mobile app/embedded system software development. This unique scheme started in March 2010 and has attracted interest from a government Minister, public sector organisations including e-Skills, private equity investors, mobile web application software developers, and university graduates. The latter keen to learn advanced programming in a team environment using an agile-based approach. Mel is ex-chief systems architect of the Symbian platform and founder director of ScrumIT http://www.scrumit.co.uk Also speaking: Eben Upton will be demoing of some of the multimedia technology generated at Broadcom Cambridge. It's aimed at mobile phones, but Eben thinks that there are other possible applications.
