The Development Marketplace is a competitive grant program created by the World Bank in 1998. This year’s global competition focuses on climate adaptation. 100 social entrepreneurs and development practitioners from 47 countries representing the most innovative and high-potential project ideas on climate adaptation will present their projects, and compete for grants of up to 200,000. Funded by the Global Environment Facility, the International Fund for Agriculture Development, Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other partners. This competition is sponsored jointly by the World Bank Institute’s Innovation Practice group and the Sustainable Development Network.
