DFW IT Pro March User Group Meeting - Clear presents 4G WiMax
March 4, 2010 at 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Microsoft Campus in Irving, Irving
*Update* Clear will be offering plan discounts to members who show up, Demoing the Product Speeds, and raffling a Notebook at the event. *End of Update* Today’s mobile networks were mostly designed for making phone calls (using 3G or Third Generation technology). However, 4G WiMAX networks are being built with the internet in mind (using 4G technology). What does that mean? That means service that goes beyond today's 2G, 3G and even Wi-Fi hotspots. Expect a better online experience* for email, videos or music downloads and whatever you need to get done on the web. Join us March 4th and learn about 4G options such as in home wireless broadband, WiMAX ready laptops, 4G mobile devices, and Multi-line Voice systems. CLEAR will be talking about the technology that drives wireless broadband as well as what the future holds. They are working with top technology companies to bring you even more next-generation 4G WiMAX ready products such as digital cameras, camcorders, personal media players, videophones and navigation systems. Gregory Floyd (Director - Program Executive at Cognizant Technology Solutions) . My company Cambio CIO and IT Serivces became a reseller of Clear via a realtionship that has been an early adopter of Clear WiMax. I have agressively marketed the service and even displaced my old ISP at my office with Clear services. Getting my Static IP address was a bit of a challenge and Clear will not have anything to do with DNS so there is a bit of a challenge if you have your own email server. The trick to Clear is your location, If you are close to a tower, you are good to go...if you are not...better stick with your DSL, cable or whatever you have.
Sean Isbell (Senior Analyst at Coldwater Technology) will be attending.
Naren Mistry (Business Development, Engagement Management) will be attending.
