SocietyM, Glasgow
Glasgow Entrepreneurs LinkedIn Meeting
citizenM
Thursday 25th Aug. 6pm-9pm(ish)
A few months ago, I suggested doing a little networking event for the 1000 or so shrinking violets on here who class themselves as ‘Glasgow Entrepreneurs’. There was a lot of interest, so we’re now doing it!
The great news is, SocietyM, the fabulous member’s club, would like to host our first meeting! It’s a chance to see their amazing place, basically, the interior is like the pages of Wallpaper Magazine come alive, with the most amazing fixtures and fittings. It’s the coolest of the crop (I know about these things!) and that’s in a City which has a LOT of new, cool things. It’s also a great deal of fun. Here’s what we’ve got planned for the evening:
Classic episodes of Taggart (and others) in the funky Screening room
A demo on Bagging Scotland, “The Saviours of Scottish Tourism”-my new project. We’re looking for serious funding for this, so you might help!
Open Ear Music will be ‘spinning’ Scottish-only tunes. Lulu to Blue Nile and everything in between. What's your favourite Scottish band? Tell us!
Pincer Vodka. Tasted Scottish Vodka before? This will be your chance!
Tutored whisky tastings by Don MacLellan the Whisky Guru from Glasgow Whisky Tours.
Mixing it up! We’ll be making the 'Nippy Sweetie’ with the guys from The Finnieston Whisky Co., Glasgow's cool new blended whisky. The also do a great mixed drink called Sweet FA. Try it. Apple, whisky, and Finnieston Whisky Co's very own peppermint bitters.
We've got jewellery. Bonnie Bling will be there. Not the stuff your gran would wear. Well, depends how hip she is!
There will Discounts to numerous things and you’re welcome to join in. What can you offer? I'll start things rolling with money-off Glasgow Whisky Tours!
Prize draw for a bottle of fine Malt (and we mean really decent stuff and a free night’s stay at citizenM
Whisky Chocolate Tasting with Jackie Wynne from Nucocco in Glasgow and Eveleen from Urban Cake with Cakes of all kinds.
Sushi platters on the go and other Scottish foodie delights that we're looking into.
Drinks vouchers for the night.
Numbers for this cool night are strictly limited to 50 people so I’m afraid, it’s a-first come-first-served basis.
Simply RSVP or send me an e-mail saying why you’d like come! Victor@cullen-skink.com
