CONNECTED FUTURES - BEYOND THE HERE AND NOW
Technology continues to drive deep changes in the telecom, media and internet sectors. Next-generation fixed and wireless broadband deployment is opening up new possibilities for applications, content and service providers. Industry players and policy makers are working respectively on adapting business models and public policy approaches to meet present day needs, but a future of connected devices accessing content-rich services and applications, of TV and internet convergence, and of increasing cross-border data flows, may have quite different sets of requirements.
Four sessions will cover:
• National broadband plans – what is being achieved?
• Meeting the challenge of rising spectrum demand
• The new content superhighway – evolutionary or revolutionary implications?
• Prospects for international data and cloud computing services in a world of national borders
