The last networking meetup was held at this location on Oct. 21, 2009. Attending were participants from a cross section of technical and professional societies located in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. The meeting served as both a networking event and as a forum for the societies involved to discuss potential mutual solutions to problems that the organizations face in common. Representatives from Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University, The Spokane School District, the Greater Spokane Inc (the local chamber of commerce and economic development group) were in attendance, as well as many business and industry leaders. This follow-up event will permit people from these groups to gather and network together again. Two program segments are scheduled for this event: (1) SME will be presenting an INTRODUCTION TO EUREKA presentation. SME has an ongoing collaborative project with Doug Hall's Eureka Innovation System [SEE http://www.eurekaranch.com/TeamEureka/DougHall and http://www.eurekaranch.com/ ] The EurekaRanch organization also partners with the US Dept. of Commerce's NIST and MEP organizations. The Eureka organization offers a unique innovation acceleration program that could have a high impact on business planning and ideation, marketing and process and product development. This methodology relies heavily on process engineering disciplines to ferret out new business ideas and directions quickly. It is a method almost any business organization should be aware of. (2) INLC will be giving a brief update on the progress of INLC (Inland Northwest Leadership Council) in developing effective collaboration to stengthen the groups involved and enhance business and professional growth opportunities in the Inland Northwest.
