Local Art Exhibition-Fundraiser L'Union Fait La Force to Benefit Doctors Without Borders Relief in Haiti Laney Contemporary presents L'Union Fait La Force: Savannah for Haiti at Oglethorpe Gallery On the behalf of Oglethorpe Gallery, we would like to extend an invitation to join us on the opening night for our first exhibition L' Union Fait La Force: Savannah for Haiti on February 19th, 2010 from 6:00-9:00 P.M. located at Oglethorpe Gallery on 406 E. Oglethorpe Ave., Savannah, GA 31401. Half of all the art sales during the exhibition, all donations made at the door, and event proceeds will directly benefit Oxfam American and Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) for relief in Haiti. The event is open to the public and all guests are suggested to make a $5.00 donation at the door to attend. We are also accepting cash sponsorships for this event at this time, please contact Susan Laney susan@oglethorpegallery.com for more information. For those of you unable to attend opening night, the exhibition is from February 19th – 27th to see works featured by the following artists: Steve Bliss, Lisa M. Robinson, Craig Stevens, Julio Garcia, Daniel E. Smith, Sal Lopes, Jason Hoelscher, Katherine Sandoz, Pete Christman, Juliana Peloso and Ken Rosenthal. About Laney Contemporary: Artist and Curator Susan A. Laney was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1973. Laney, a Francis McCommon Portfolio Scholarship recipient, received a BFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1996. Her work in photography is based in alternative processes. Laney's work has been shown in galleries throughout the United States. She has received numerous awards for her work as well as being included in Photographers Forum, Spring, 1997. She was the Gallery Director for the well renowned Jack Leigh Gallery in Savannah, Georgia where she still services existing clientele and works with artists she represented after the closing of the gallery in 2008. Susan Laney is now doing business as Laney Contemporary at Oglethorpe Gallery.
